Messenger Declaration

What now? Are you ready to become a messenger for Jesus, sharing the Gospel message with your circle of influence? If you’re not sure, keep praying. Listen to the Lord; He will guide you and you will know when you are ready. Come back when you are…we’ll be here.

If you are ready now, then we invite you to speak the following declarations out loud to the Lord.

  • Lord, I declare to You this day that I want to become a messenger for You, sharing the message of salvation to those in my personal circle of influence and to anyone else You put on my heart to share the Gospel message with.
  • God, I truly believe that the greatest influence I can have on another person’s life is to lead them to Jesus.
  • God, I offer myself to You. Use me as a vessel to carry the message of salvation to others.
  • God, I declare that I will have a spirit of boldness and not a spirit fear or intimidation when presented with an opportunity to share Your message.
  • I declare that I will take this responsibility seriously.
  • Lord, I confess that I will daily spend time with You and in Your Word to strengthen my spirit and hear what You would have me do for You.
  • I declare that I will live honorably before You Lord in both my public and personal life so that my life is spotless and free of any accusations. So what I say is directly supported by what I do – how I behave. I will not do one thing but say another or speak out of both sides of my mouth.
  • I will act kindly toward everyone I come into contact with. I will not be rude or disrespectful but I will walk in the love of Christ.
  • I will dress professionally and modestly, not sloppily or provocatively, as I serve as a representative of Jesus Christ.
  • I confess that I will simply share the message of salvation, the Word of God. I will not enter into debates with others or try to impose my own will or opinions upon others.
  • I confess that I will not judge anyone as not being worthy of receiving Jesus.
  • I declare to You this day, Lord, that I will commit my time, talents, and treasures to doing my part to take Your message into all the world.
  • I declare that I will be obedient to You in this area, Lord, however and wherever You lead me.
  • I declare that I am Your missionary, Lord.
  • I declare that I am a messenger for You, Lord, and I am in Your service.
  • I declare this all by faith in Jesus’ name. Amen!

God bless you! You have just made an awesome commitment to the Lord. Continue to pray and prepare your heart. Always know that God will be right there with you each and every time you have the opportunity to share His Word.  As the Lord gives you opportunities to be a messenger, keep in mind the words of John 13:16 NIV, I tell you the truth, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.

If you’d like, we would also love to send you a free certificate stating that you are a messenger for the Lord. No, you don’t need a piece of paper to make you a messenger. As we said before, it is truly a matter of your heart and nothing more. We simply offer the certificate for you as a reminder of the day you made your declaration to become a messenger. You can place it in your Bible or hang it in a special place. It can serve as a reminder of your commitment to the Lord. It can also serve as a starting point for a conversation about the Gospel with someone who may see it in your home.
