Staying Rooted

This final section under Grow is about staying rooted and grounded in God. Staying on course and staying focused.  Not deviating or drifting away, but staying strong and developing and continuing to grow in the Lord.

If you’ve made the journey from the very beginning of the Grow section and read through all the information provided, you have come a long way! Congratulations! You have surely grown in your relationship with the Lord. Exactly how much you’ve grown and will continue to mature in the Lord will be up to you. It will be different for every person because each one of us is different, and so too will our relationship be with the Lord. But one thing we all have in common is if we keep loving the Lord and spending time with Him, we will always continue to grow. …Stay with and in the faith [in Christ], well-grounded and settled and steadfast, not shifting or moving away from the hope… Colossians 1:23 (AMP).

Remember, this is not a one day transformation, but a complete change in who you are and how you live your life. This is a long term relationship that will continue to grow and develop over time. But as for you, the anointing (the sacred appointment, the unction) which you received from Him abides [permanently] in you; [so] then you have no need that anyone should instruct you. But just as His anointing teaches you concerning everything and is true and is no falsehood, so you must abide in (live in, never depart from) Him [being rooted in Him, knit to Him], just as [His anointing] has taught you [to do] 1 John 2:27 (AMP). Reaffirm your commitment to the Lord every day. Continue to spend time in the Word daily, going to church weekly, and listening to praise and worship music and God-inspired teachings. Stay close to the Lord, like you would your best friend. Keep Him, and His Word, close to you always.

Consider the following scriptures:

And I am praying that you will put into action the generosity that comes from your faith as you understand and experience all the good things we have in Christ (Philemon 1:6 NLT).

May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell (settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love Ephesians 3:17 (AMP).

So get rid of all uncleanness and the rampant outgrowth of wickedness, and in a humble (gentle, modest) spirit receive and welcome the Word which implanted and rooted [in your hearts] contains the power to save your souls James 1:21 (AMP).

Withstand him; be firm in faith [against his onset--rooted, established, strong, immovable, and determined], knowing that the same (identical) sufferings are appointed to your brotherhood (the whole body of Christians) throughout the world 1 Peter 5:9 (AMP).
