ETERNITY

He has planted eternity in the human heart…
Ecclesiastes 3:11 NLT

Eternity is defined as “infinite time; duration without beginning or end.” It is often referred to as time without end, infinity, forever, or never-ending. With respect to God, some people may not believe in life after death or spending eternity in heaven or hell.

We are not going to debate whether or not eternity is real, or provide a theological assessment on the existence of heaven and hell. We will simply say that we believe in eternity, that there is life after death. We believe there is a heaven and a hell.

…In the beginning God created the heavens… Genesis 1:1 (NLT)
…the Lord made the heavens! (Psalm 96:5 NLT)
…The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way (Matthew 7:13 NLT).

We believe that after we no longer have life in our mortal bodies, that our glorified bodies will spend the rest of time with the Lord in heaven.

…[I am living in the eternity of the eternities]. I died, but see, I am alive forevermore… (Revelation 1:18 AMP).

We believe that every choice we make on earth affects how we will spend eternity.

Here’s the lesson: Use your worldly resources to benefit others and make friends. Then, when your earthly possessions are gone, they will welcome you to an eternal home (Luke 16:9 NLT).

So whether we are here in this body or away from this body, our goal is to please him. For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body. Because we understand our fearful responsibility to the Lord, we work hard to persuade others. God knows we are sincere… (2 Corinthians 5:9-11 NLT).
