ECONOMIC ENCOURAGEMENT

The global economic crisis continue to make headlines throughout the world with news of home foreclosures, business failings, mega mergers, record oil and gas prices, collapsing financial markets, and governments in need of astronomical financial bailouts. Presidential candidates, elected officials and business leaders continue to point fingers, blaming one another. Meanwhile, many “Main Street” Americans are in despair, confronting life-changing decisions. A record number of people are facing choices to sell or foreclose on their homes, stay in a jobless market or relocate their families due to high unemployment rates, or take significant financial losses in dwindling stock market or retirement portfolios to obtain cash to pay bills. The daily dose of economic numbers seems to offer more of the same with little or no hope in sight of this crisis ending.

Many people experiencing these difficult circumstances and hard choices are unsure of where to turn for help. One Man One Message offers hope, comfort, direction and support in these challenging times because of One Man, Jesus and His message of salvation. Jesus came to this world so that we might be set free, whom the son sets free is free indeed (see John 8:36). Free from worry, free from anxiety, free from stress. The Word says …do not worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?” (Matthew 6:31, NLT). Because God did not give us a spirit of fear, but one of power (see 2 Timothy 1:7).

So, no matter how bad yesterday was, what is happening today, or what the outlook is for tomorrow, Jesus provides strength and support in today’s often confusing and overwhelming world. Don’t put your trust in ever changing world markets, but trust in Jesus Christ, who is the same yesterday, today and forever (see Hebrews 13:8).
